Impact Study

Banking and Financial Services

Our client is a large European bank, with more than €500bn in assets and 40,000 employees across 30 countries.

Challenge

Rapidly evolving technical and regulatory conditions, and a highly competitive banking market, have spawned a new generation of challengers and disruptors. These start-ups deliver value from the explosion of data around customers, organizations and society at large. With the trends set to accelerate, our client recognized the need to build a robust culture of data and AI into the organization, maximizing opportunity while minimizing compliance risk.

Solution

Our client worked with GAIN to develop an Enterprise Data Literacy program to embed the skills to read, write and speak data and analytics into the organization. We created five bespoke training pathways to establish a shared language and a common set of concepts, values and behaviors across the organization. We then built a team of in-house trainers to deliver the program at scale to leadership, business management, technical and support roles over a five-year period.

Outcome

Our client’s objective is to deliver data and AI literacy training to 17,500 employees, with 7,500 participating in classroom programs and the remainder trained through e-learning. Launched in 2021, the program was fully operational with around 1,000 participants completing classroom training by 2023. An in-house team of 35 trainers has been selected, trained and certified, and we are on track to achieve the 17,500 participant target by 2025.
