Impact Study

ABN-AMRO

ABN AMRO Bank N.V. is a leading Dutch bank, with over 22,500 employees and more than €400 billion in assets. With a history stretching back to 1824, the bank is headquartered in Amsterdam.

Challenge

ABN AMRO is looking for top talent who can analyze and translate data to valuable insights, to serve its customers even better than they do today. Data-driven decisions play a crucial role in optimizing the online customer journey and adjusting product offerings. But with competition for top talent at an all-time high, it’s been a challenge to attract and retain the best people to help the bank on this journey. More than money, the best candidates are looking for employers that support their personal and professional goals and help them to build strong career paths.

Solution

We partner with ABN AMRO to set up a bespoke in-house Data Analytics Traineeship, giving recruits the opportunity to develop their skills in data and AI storytelling, data technology and modelling techniques. A combination of classroom-based education and on-the-job training, the 18-month program begins with a  ‘bootcamp’ followed by five weeks of specialization. Recruits are then channeled into the business to handle their own tasks and projects while developing their technical and business skills.

Outcome

Over six classes, we launched the careers of more than 80 new data scientists and data analysts. The data traineeship program was mentioned as one of the key reasons new hires chose to work at ABN AMRO, and participants scored the program 8.5/10 on average.
